any needed mods to MAF?

im new to this supercharger stuff. Im trying to buy a procharger for my car. What kind of mods do i need to make? I found a chip that will work. How do i run the MAF sensor with the SC. Any other sensors need to be modified? Thanks

Ive been wondering the same thing I know you could convert to speed density, but If your like me you probaly dont want to hassle with that

Don't quote me, but in the forced induction world I believe your computer can handle 6psi without changing anything, if your running more than that...

A 350 running 6lbs of boost is pushing about 653cfm, the stock MAF sensor can flow up to 658cfm. I would think that anything over 6lbs is going to need a modification.

would that just mean getting a bigger/after market MAF sensor? Any other mods?

There are a few options that you can do. The cheapest would be to re-pin the harness for a Speed Density system (730 ecm or 749 ecm).

Upgrade from: 1985 ECM 870 --> 1986-1989 ECM 165 (My 85 Z28 and EPROM Project)

Upgrade from: 1986-1989 --> 1990-1992 ECM (speed density) 730 (My 85 Z28 and Changing a '165 ECM to a '730)

Upgrade from: 1990-1992 ECM --> 749 Syclone/Typhoon ECM (https://www.thirdgen.org/1990conversion)

The speed density 1 bar system can handle up to 12lbs or 15lbs (maybe someone else can answer), with the 730 & 749 ecms, a hack can be programmed to run a 2 bar map system which will handle boost up to ~20lbs.

What would be the best upgrade for 8-10 lbs of boost?

I'd just go to 730 ECM and get a chip.

I don't consider the factory MAF a restriction unless you are pushing 400+hp.
That said, I've got a Granatelli Adjustable MAF.
It advertises 30% more airflow over stock and I'm hoping it will come in handy if I decide to use a supercharger in the future.
