been rethinking my new setup

ive been buidling a new motor for the rs(serious drag engine) 3.4
it consists of
#1 crower forged crankshaft
#2 manley forged h-beam rods
#3 j.e forged pistions
#4 ported canted valve aluminum heads (flow 228/196 cfm int/ex)
#8 1.8 full roller rockers
#9 custom turbo cam (mechanical)
#10 sheet metal manifold (short runner large plenum design)
#11 nx 35 shot
#12 custom co2 intercooler spray system

Now my original plan were to use the brand new turbonetics t-76 turbo i bought for this project. Now this is gonna require around a 4k+ converter and ill have to spin this motor in upwards of 8k.gonna be pretty hard on parts every season just due to how high im gonna have to rev this thing. With me having my first baby on the way,im gonna have to make this thing live as long as possible in between refreshnings.and id like to street drive this from time to time

So my other idea was to sell off the turbo and buy a second t04e stage 5 57 trim and run twins. This would allow me to drop the stall speed some, and keep the engine speed lower,as these would spool much faster.Though everyone is telling me the twin t04e's wont make the same power the single t-76 would make.

thought opinions on this?

Were you going to re-do all the exhaust anyway? Will the exhaust from the 2.8 single turbo setup be good enough? I'm foolishly partial to twins because it sounds better when your bragging about it, but in an all out drag situation, bragging is done with timeslips and reaction times. I couldn't say which will make more power, just pick whichever is going to give you the best combination of compressor efficiency, spool time, exhaust flow, net price, ease of fabrication, powerband (valvesprings) etc. Think about IC piping too, if you were going to use two turbos compared to one. What kind of power differences would you expect between the two? If you have to spin the motor past where the cam is effective just to spool the turbo I'd resize the turbo.

I really like what you have planned for your motor. I think running twin 57 trims will spool a lot faster than the new 76 would. Also it would indeed drop your powerband down to where you need it to be with your cam... I think the 57's will only need to run out to about 7k with your setup...

Although I am still trying to adjust to turbocharged setups on these motors. I'm used to doing it on little 4 cylinders. lol

Ya know... It might also be easier to run the twin turbo piping than it would be for just a single turbo. Especially if you make your own headers... If you did run the twin turbo setup, I do believe they made an intercooler for the rx-7's that brought the two charge lines in from each side of the intercooler. Then they merged within the intercooler and just had one outlet coming out the top angled back towards the motor... If you could find a way to work it around the radiator and such I think it would be good for your setup. It would make it a lot easier to run your piping to the TB and give it a nice clean look in the end.
