What PCM for boosted v-8 with 4l60e
Hi, I have searched a bunch and not come up with anything. Whats the best option for a pcm that can be tuned for use with a multiport v8 turbo setup and still take care of the origional 4l60e. I have a burn 1 and ostrich for programming changes. Or do we end up with a 749 ecm for the engine and the stock pcm - 16168625 in my case running the trans. Or can the 16168625 be programmed with the syclone code to handle the boost. This is a 93 silverado 5.7, 4l60e with the tbi swapped to multiport. Im sure a 1 bar capability would be plenty for this vehicle. Thanks, Jon

If 1 bar is enough then just use the stock PCM. You will find more info for 2bar stuff over on the DIY PROM board.
EDIT: You are running a multiport with a TBI (alternate fire ECM) and peak&hold injector drivers? You must have P&H multiport injectors in that setup.

I have most of the parts together to do the multiport, its running tbi right now. I want to pick a good pcm right the first time that will do 8 injectors, 4l60e and have fueling and timing support for up to 14 pounds about 1 bar of boost. The stock pcm will only drive the 2 tbi injectors right? Anyone know if a 93 lt1 pcm-ecm was set up for 4l60e or did they still run the 700r4 that year? Anyone end up havin to run a syclone ecm 749 for the engine and another pcm for the 4l60e? Any ideas appreciated, Jon
Well I found some stuff on the prom forum about guys piggybacking in a 749 sycone ecm or a 730 ecm running 749 code to take care of the engine and keeping the truck pcm for the trans control. They said the 4l60e just needs tps, dist ref signal and vss signals to operate correctly. Then turn off the error code flags in the origional pcm prom with tunerpro to keep the check engine light from coming on due to the pcm not being able to control the engine. So im goin that direction and see how it goes. Ck you later, Jon
