340ci is the max.i had a stroked 305 in my 86 iroc it was alright nice tq down low but really lacked anything up high, though it still had stock heads and cam on it pretty much.cheaper to go buy a 350 from the junkyard and freshen the motor and drop it in
the stroker crank is pretty cheap, but ull have to get new pistions made for it which can be cheap to really exspensive

Try another section, this is for power adders(nitrous, turbo, and superchargers)

Check around in your local area. Also, check the newspaper, and search the net. Make sure when you go to check out an engine, that you know how to positively identify the engine as a 350.

a 383 is a 350 with a 400 crank. they are a dime a dozen laying in junkyards and fields everywhere, but many late 70 and 80's 350 stock dont make much power.

Well, I’ve always thought a 349 would be cool (305 block bored .060” over with a 3.85” stroke crank like you would use on a 396 build out of a 350), but it is not the cost effective way of building cubic inches. It would make very nice engine in something that you’re looking to maximize efficiency (MPG for the amount of work done, like a truck that actually gets used as a truck), or in something that detonation resistance is a big deal with like a boosted engine, with some interesting consequences with newer fast burn technology, but that is not what interests people around here…
