Boost possible with 10.7:1?

On my 383, Lunati and JE bottom end, rated to 900 hp and 8k RPM, AFR 210s ported to the moon and back, running on megasquirt. I want to go TT, what size turbos would I need? I can get 110 all over around here, but could I turn the boost down and run 93? it was intended to be N/A and 93 with no probs. wanted 500 rwhp. maybe its just a pipe dream and i should stick to my original plans

I just recently went through this on my 10.7:1 cr engine, I have found its not really going to be benificial at all. I in fact tore down my engine and am redoing it for 8.7:1 which is a pretty common low compression number I have found for 383's

If youre running a high CR, then boost will be very low. I would say roughly 8-10psi on a T3 unit. If you really want boost, get cams that are designed for it, and a lower CR if you really want the power.

bust out the nitrous and skip the boost for when you build an o-ringed block for big numbers and low compression

That and a aftermarket block.

Possible? Yes.
Smart? No.

How about you just mail me your engine, that way you have a reason to build it.

Good choice on using the N2O instead. In order to use the 10.7:1 CR you would have to throw a giant cam in it to leak down the cyls for normal street use but then the cam would be too much for the street. Race gas and a huge intercooler would also be needed.

if your heads weren't so AFR-ish and "ported to the moon and back", i would say get some heads with 76cc combustion chambers and some MLS head gaskets.. then boost it up to about 12-15lbs intercooled.. i assume you have the heads with 66cc combustion chambers.. so a 76cc will bring you down to about 9.6-9.7:1.. but thats just a thought.. i would stick with the AFR's and nitrous the crap outta it.. just tune well and hope for the best..
