Ok for xmas I got a Holley black pump for a nitrious kit that I will be buying over the winter. I have a Magnafuel 500 pump now. My question is should I exchange the Holley pump for a fuel block and a regualtor and gauge and just run the bottle off the 500 pump or go to a single system for the bottle. I am looking at kits like the NX 6 stage kit. Any thoughts ideas on fuel system safety system that I should buy for the install? Anything would be great on this subject.
Are you talking about this fuel pump?

If so, I'd just plumb in a "T" and be done with it. How big of a shot are you going to be running? IMO it'd be really nice if you had a fuel pressure gauge to keep and eye on things...
Most people say that a fuel pressure safety switch it really good to have, but I've talked to a nitrous expert (who is also an instrumentation man) and he said they weren't too accurate or fast acting, that your best bet is to have a nice fuel pump (which you got IMO)...
You're not running any type of fuel pressure regulator right now?

The magna flow 500 is plenty of fuel pump for what you are doing.
I run my 408 on a 200 shot with a single BG 280, #10 line from the pump to a "Y" up front and two seperate regulators.

yeah that is the pump I have actually it is the one with the filter as well. I am running a Holley reg. now and will just get another one along with a gauge. Thanks for the info guys, I'll post when I get it on.

Good luck, let me know if you need any tune-ups for the plate.
My 408 runs 9.80's/137 in a stock suspension on 325/50 drag radials, 1.38 60ft off of the footbrake. The car runs 10.80/123 on motor with a 1.48 60ft.
It's 3220 lbs with driver.
I usually run my jetting squared in the plate with 6.5 psi flowing fuel pressure. I also take 2 degrees of timing out for every 50hp of nos, never nipped a plug or hurt any parts and have close to 100 runs on this combo.

i will be hitting you up for some tunning help. I am also looking at getting some new slicks this year, thinking of going with a 28x10.5. What are you using for a "Y" block. I was thinking of going wiht a magna fuel block but in jegs theres no pic of any mounting hardware. If you check out my cardomain page you can see that I want it to look good. what kit are you using on you car? I was thinking of the NX stage 6 kit 50-300 shot. I hope to get into the 10's on motor this year with some of the other winter projects that i am going to be doing, such as electric water pump, racing seats which I got for Xmas, new slicks as I mentioned. Then I will spray it,and hopefully not blow it up. What kind of saftey devices are on yours, RPM switch, fuel switch, do you manually turn your timing down or do you have one of those timing controllers? Thanks for the help.

I saw the car......all I can say is that my camaro has a long way to go in the looks dept before it even comes remotely close to yours, NICE RIDE!
NX make a great kit, their tune ups are closer out of the box than NOS, that kit should put you in the nines ez on a small hit. I use the MSD Start Retard Box for knocking out the timing at start up and then it's tied into the micro switch on the throttle, it has chips that control how much you take out.
As far as the fuel is concerned, after the burn out I rock the switch on and off to get the pressure stabilized (it's dead headed into a holley regulator).

Oh yea and I use the BG "Y" block with #10 in and 2 #8's out.
How would i go about mounting the magna fuel log theres no pic of any mounting system for that. There is a bracket for the QFT log but it looks like it will only work with there regulators. I am getting all this from www.jegs.com Any pics you could post? anyone?

Way off the subject, but I have to know where you got that hood from DragRAdial? I like that style much better than what I have right now.

Sorry for going a little more off topic, but what did you have to do to wedge the 325/50’s in the wheel wells? What size/offset wheel are you using? Any more pics?Originally Posted by DragRadialRacer

you can run the motor and any nitrous kit on the one pump by its self. That pump is a badassOriginally Posted by BlueBeast
