Nos Jetting Question

I'm installing an under manifold cheater kit under a Stealth Ram. Installed a BBK high volume in-tank pump. Instead of the jet nozzles I've got soft plume foggers going in. I plan on tapping into the fuel rail for my fuel supply and when I power up the pump through the test lead (No vacume at regulator)fuel pressure will be set at 50-55 lbs. if I run #22 nos jets it looks like acording to the jet map that #16 for fuel jets would be about right. Is that correct ?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanx

your fuel jets should never be smaller than your nitrous jets. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You should never use smaller fuel jets!!! That is just asking the car gods to blow up your car. It would be way to lean when you spray.

i believe youre mistaking unless im wrong or am understanding this wrong. but in my NOS instructions on my nitrous kit for my tbi it says with a for a 150 shot i believe it sayss a 65 nitrous jet and a 42 fuel jet are safe very safe running it rich. and that shows the fuel jet smaller than the nitrous.

Yes, the fuel jets are the smaller of the two. I know there’s some vast knowledge here and I'd really like to tap into it. I don't want a separate fuel source. The nozzles are under the manifold so I want to get the jets as close as possible. I considered an above manifold install but the HSR looks like it was made for an under manifold install with not much room for eight nozzles top side. So …

I know this can’t be written in stone and that I’m going to have to check the burn on the plugs and see where I end up. However once on the bottle fuel pressure drop will play a role in jet sizes. The more drop the bigger the jets. Will I have drop? I guess I can always bring it alive off the car and check for pressure drop but it will be all prettied up and don’t want to mess it up. Before I actually run it I’ll put a protective device on it like a Jacobs or something. Anyway, I’m fully capable of doing the install with 30 years experience as a master tech and fully capable of taking responsibility if it grenades. I don’t want someone to tell me what to do; I’d just like to hear from one of the TPI Nitrous guru’s. Am I where I need to be with 22’s for Nos and 16’s for fuel and start testing from there. Too big on the fuel jets with 16’s ? Anything would be appreciated. Thanx in advance

Rick

They must be taking in considering the injectors adding fuel too. But I don't think you can ever run too rich when spraying.

I wont say my times, but I can tell you I really like it, especially with ease of intsall.

and I know that people say it makes the 1 and 2 cylinders lean, but thats only if your running a HUGE shot. I am running a 150, many times now and no problems what so ever.

the kits for all of our cars are great and are an easy install. depending on the size shot you plan to run bottle pressure will drop how fast depends on the size of the nitrous jet. get a bottle warmer its def worth the extra money.

I've ran the cheater plate kit. I guess the TPI setup is different for the fuel as far as jetting wise. I ran a 73 Nitrous pill and an 82 Fuel pill for a 180 shot on mine.

I plan on running a 150 shot on my L98... I hope it puts me in the low 13s... We will just have to wait and see. Has anyone hit the low 13s with spray on a basically stock L98?

okay I'll say. last night at the drags, a stock L98, and a 150 shot, with very low psi on the bottle (maybe 650 or 700, way too low) went 13.1.

Now I plan to get a bottle heater and I should be in the mid to high 12's.

150 shot should be good for 12s, but first put on some headers and true duals/catback to get that added exhaust out of the car
