Manufactered chips/ cold air induction?

I was wondering if any of you guys have used or tried any of the million aftermarket chips you can get for just about every engine in the world? Supposedly it tricks your ECM in to thinking that the air is colder, thereby causing ??????? to provide more power for the engine? Is there any cold air induction kits available for a 305 TBI engine? I have seen several 'homemade' type cold air kits online, but not any normal 'bolt-on' types. Also, would these work okay together? As always, thank you for your help!!

my camaro had a aftermarket chip in it when i bought the thing and it's actually worse then the stock chip. they're supposed to trick your computer to thinking its shoving more cold air in "faster" then it really is so it's adding power there and it'll let you get past the speed limiter if you have one. now days though you can program them to do just about anything for you just a matter of coughing up the money. in the end i'd say stick the with stock chip.

GM ran the stock bin way rich at wide open throttle. You would be better off with your cold air setup and a stock chip.
