Re: got a used nos kit what to do?
you must run higest oct gas to prevent detonation obviously
computer i dont know about...
Timing has to be adjusted i can't rember the formula for the shot to timing retard try to find it on google or something
Plugs should be changed to a colder heat range
hopefully someone in here will have more info for you
found some info on the timing..
Timing and Nitrous Oxide
Behind fuel, timing is the most important area of Nitrous use to understand and follow. To get maximum power from a naturally aspirated or forced induction motor, you run the timing as high as detonation allows-you get max power there. By using better gas,you can put in more timing and get more power. Nitrous doesn't work that way. You must retard the timing when using Nitrous. Why? Because it pumps up cylinder pressure so much that detonation may occur, resulting usually in broken pistons and bent rods. You definitely don't want to do that! How to set timing:For every 50 hp in Nitrous you add to a motor, you must retard timing by 1-1/2 to 2 degrees in order not to damage parts. For a 150 hp kit,you would take 4-1/2 to 6 degrees of timing out. Since taking timing out when the car is not using Nitrous hurts power, you can either move the timing maually every time,or buy an ignition system that is controlable from inside the car when you want to.

It can be stock. Just don't spray too radical of a shot..... I would only do like a 75 shot....
Re: got a used nos kit what to do?
well first off is it a wet or dry kit, if its a dry kit dont even waste your time with it. wet kits are much better and safer, and your can run much more nitrous.
the soleniod im not sure on how to find out if they are good or not, you will probally just have to hook them up and purge them. on a 350 you can probally run at least a 100 shot with out hurting anything. generally ruel of thumb with nitrous timming is, for every 50hp of nitrous retard the timming 2 degrees, but with only a 75 shot i dont think you will have to worry about anything. make sure you are getting plenty of fuel(your pump should be new or flow as good as new, otherwise replace it.) get new plugs that are a heat range cooler than what you got now. but i dont think you would have a porblem with running atleast 100 if not more, max would be 150 on the stock internals.
right now im runing a 150 shot on my 2.8, and another member on here is fabbing me up a direct port fogger system.

with most everything you said there. Though with a wet shot and dry shot, neither one of them are really safer than the other. I've seen too many fuel noids' kick the bucket leaving the n20 spraying all by itself and burning up some pistons and tearing apart other engines. Trending Topics

exactly how used is the kit??? if its over 2 years old, you may have to either rebuild or replace the solenoid(s).. dont want nitrous to leak into the manifold before start up.. or else BOOOOOOM

wet has fuel AND nitrous solenoids, dry has nitrous only. the wet nozzle will have 2 inlets on it, the dry will usually be blue in color andhave one outlet.

Re: got a used nos kit what to do?
Download the instruction manual from NOS. I'de DEFINETLY recommend a high pressure Walbro pump, and taking out 2 degrees of timing (more if you exceed 150hp). Also that bullcrap about "don't go over 100 shot you'll hurt your motor WAAAA" is for wimps, you can get away with ALOT more if you use your logic and keep an eye on things. 150 is where I'de START at not where I'de call it maxed. Call NOS for jetting information if you decide to jet different from the factory settings on the kit. Hell the kit only comes with 2 jettings that I remember, a 100 and a 150 shot. I believe the manual tells you everything about checking the system, but you definetly want to run nitrous to the nitrous solenoid and make sure it isn't hissing, then close the bottle, secure the solenoid, and touch the wires to the 2 terminals of your battery (it's kind of scary the nitrous will shoot out and make a loud noise). hook the fuel solenoid up to the plate the way it's supposed to be, make sure the bottle isn't connected to the main line, rev the engine and hit your activation switch, the car should bog after a moment. This verifys both solenoids are at least in working condition. Good luck with the kit.
