goodwrench 350 boosted

I was just wondering if anyone has some combination recommendations for a goodwrench 350 out of a truck with 30,000 miles that I have laying around. I would like to change the heads, cam and I will be running a ati procharger how much boost could this engine handle safely?

Goodwrench Quest part 7 If it were me I'd be running 5-7# then work up to 12-15# intercooled on it, but then again I also carry a "smoke em if you got em" mentality.

I'd cam it then use the stock heads with some light porting work, unless you've got a set of heads lying around you'd rather use that don't bump compression up insanely or are AL (64cc+ for AL or 72-76CC irons) With the more efficient procharger on high boost, I don't think 500 at the flywheel would be too hard to do even with the stock heads.

Re: goodwrench 350 boosted

I bought the ati procharged iroc in the classifieds. It has the p600b aftercooled 13lbs of boost to a stock 305 long block with runners, ported plentium,52mmtb, headers and exhaust made 390hp and 420 tq to the wheels on a stock long block 305. That engine in the car has a rod knock that I noticed yesterday. I am shooting for over 500 hp to the wheels I would like to know if I get some good flowing heads, a custom ground blower cam and a accel super ram or holley stealth ram will the stock short block be reliable at around 13-15lbs of boost? I have the supporting fuel mods.

Re: goodwrench 350 boosted

I'm wondering about your head unit, "stock" 350s have been run to higher power levels then that, it's just a matter of how long they last. Provided you keep a good tune on it, have good H/C/I 500 at the wheels should be doable esp with the extra cubes. I also wanted to say damn good #s out of that 305, I hope when I get around to turboing my 305 I can do something near that.

Re: goodwrench 350 boosted
