could a roots be ruined by engine fire?

could a roots be ruined by engine fire?

if an engine cought on fire would that ruin the supercharger? this car is burnt pretty bad but was wondering if the charger would still be ok.
any info is great thanks!

Yes the supercharger could possibly be ruined because if the heat reached to a temp high enough, the case could possibly have warped or cracked slightly. Also the bearings in the snout and the rear bearing plate could be damaged. The only way to properly check it out is to have a blower shop such as BDS, Weiand, ect to do a complete inspection on the blower, MIC the internals, and magnaflux the case to check for cracks. They will also do a pressure test on the blower to insure it is producing boost throughout the rpm range.
