Anyone with a supercharger...!???
Any regrets???
What would you do differently... if you had the chance to do it over again?
Every once in awhile I think about getting blown ...
Seriously though........ Any downside?
It is alot of $$$$$

No regrets...............but there are some $$$ involved....
I should have got the F1 unit right away instead of starting with a
600b.......boost is addictive....
But then If I should start today I would have gone with Twin turbo
Dont have the time to start buildning TT now but in the future ......

ttt
Anybody else want to chime in on this one......... c'mon
by the way thanks "gta324" So.... what's the difference between F1 & 600b?
While I got ya lookin.....
How important are a great set of heads on a supercharged engine? Especially if your forcing air into them?
I have a pair of ported and polished S/R torquer heads with 58 cc chambers and 171cc intake ports that I was gonna put on a normally aspirated engine but realize that the compression ratio would be too high for a supercharged engine.........
If I went with a S/C I guess I would step up to a set of aluminum heads

Re: Anyone with a supercharger...!???
If I had to do it all over again I would most with out a doubt purchase a F1SC I started with a P1SC and upgraded to a D1SC and still need the boost a F1SC is capable of giving. If you look at it like this the F1SC is only about 2 to 3 hundred dollars more when you do your original purchase, you can always tone the boost down with a larger pulley but you cant create more boost once you get small on the pulley alls that happens is more belt slippage..Spend a little more on your initial purchase and buy the F1SC and make sure you buy a 3 core intercooler.
Good Luck!

So F1SC = higher boost which means forged internals..........right?..... hmmm
Did you guys go into programming/chip burning prior to getting your Supercharger.......... Knowing how to program is imperative isn't it????
I would have to start burning my own chips with the setup I have planned anyways...... just scared to start I guess
What about everyone else????
Regrets??? did you hate yourself after spending the money or have troubles setting it up and getting it to run right???? Did you start blowing things up and in the end spend way more $ than you thought you would....?

Re: Anyone with a supercharger...!???
Well dont be afraid of F1 status, yes it is very capable of making more boost so yes if you decide to make the boost it would be a good idea to have the forged internals and a free flowing exhaust and a hole bunch of other stuff that goes with a high boost application, the key is capable, the supercharger will only make the boost you pulley it for so put a larger pulley on it and only make the 6 to 8lbs of boost however if you decide you would like to upgrade the motor or you decide to replace the motor you will have your F1 to make the boost if you ever need it. It is always easier to pulley down the boost than not to be able to make it if you want it. As far as the chip goes if you do the mild boost you can usually send your engine specifications to one of the better tuners and he will usually hit it first try. I sent my info to Ed Wright and he hit it right on the nose. It is a good idea to start learning about the tuning process because if you are like the rest of us you will probably become addicted to the boost and will want to start messing with things so it is much friendlier to the pocketbook if you can tune your own stuff. Good Luck hopefully this helps.

Re: Anyone with a supercharger...!???
Thanks boa1277 !!!!!
I've been thinking about going S/C'd for the last couple of months........ too bad I've been collecting parts for a particular recipe for a while now.......
I was gonna go with a high compression, LPE cammed (High Lift.530/.560"), HSR set up.
I guess I could pick up different heads and go with forged internals later..... I've only built one engine but would love to start another.
ZZ4 bare block here I come.
