supercharged 305 vs. bare 350

i am the proud owner of a 1987 trans am....it is a 305 tpi with 144,000 miles on it, but i can probably gut most of the motor and freshen it up and throw a supercharger on it or....

buy a 350 long block from the junkyard and build it up and maybe add some extra parts to add some power in my basement and then throw it in maybe next summer....

what do you guys think?

p.s. this is my daily driver

Re: supercharged 305 vs. bare 350

a rebuilt 350 with a good set of heads and a cam will probably be cheaper than rebuiling the 305 and super charging it and most likely make ABOUT the same power depending on boost levels, hell supercharging the 350 would be about the same cost of the 305 and yield much better results. If it were my DD, and wanted to do a build, i'd do a mild 350 with some vortec heads and lower intake, and throw a p600b or s-trim vortech supercharger on it.
