Twin turbo vs Vortech V-1
I currently have a v-1 supercharger on my car. Im getting about 3 lbs of boost at 3k rpms. Id like to get more boost sooner. A smaller pulley will put me over the top. I've been thinking about a twin turbo setup, could two t3/t4 turbos get me into the boost sooner? Im only looking to run about 10-15 psi, so I think these would be small enough to spool quickly yet deliver enough cfm.

it should definitely come into boost sooner with twins, my pro charger didn't start boosting until 3,000 rpms. The twin turbo setup I am using now comes into boost at 2000 rpms

Wow, any turbo lag? What turbos are you using?

You have me curious. I have two .48 A/R T3 turbines on a 305ci that starts to make boost at 1700 RPM. I love the low boost setups. What size ci, cam, intake, heads, and turbines are you making positive boost at 2000 RPM?

its Im using the 800 horsepower gale banks twin turbo kit the car is not running right at this point with #60 and a stock ecm the 2000 rpms was just an estimate but I definitely notice the boost sooner with the turbos vs the supercharger.

Re: Twin turbo vs Vortech V-1
I was just reading about the Tom Nelson 1500hp 406ci twin turbo engine built for the Hot Rod Magazine "F-Bomb" car. Absolutley amazing. Super streetable. Way more power than Im willing to tune my chassis for. I think I will ditch my supercharger next year, get an aftermarket block, better carb, and convert to twin turbo. Most of the fun is building it, the driving is just a nice side effect.
