um im using the eagle brand personally and i love it....there was no half *** work it was all balanced when it got to me and i was surprised even to find the crank made better than i expected it. i was extremely happy with every piece and my 383 is kicking hard i would recommend and buy from them again in a heartbeat i don't know where what and what proof they have to backup a negative claim like that but first hand i love it. by no means is it forged super car items but its definitely top notch work if you have questions pm me i will answer best i can GL (Buy the eagle its worth it and a good price)

Thanx for the input.i figured eagle would be good but i just wantd to check to make sure. I know lots of people sell eagle forged 383 kits with 8.5:1 ratio but does anyone know where is the cheapest place? ebay maybe but idk bout trusting ebay. Any links to good sites with cheap lower end kits would be greatly appreciated.

I have an eagle 3.75 crank, eagle 6inch H beams and JE pistons. Motor has prob 15K on it and most of that is beat on. I ran some 11.7-8s last weekend.
Never issues.

If you want to go cheap but good quality, you could try Cat brand. I got a forged crank & forged h-beam rods off eBay for $650. Had a machine shop assemble & balance without issues.

IIRC, Eagle is chinese steel, machined in china. Scat is chinese steel but is machined here with closer tolerances. I've heard some people have had problems balancing eagle stuff, but I've seen both in very fast cars.
Pistons you don't want to skimp on.

Eagle make 3 or 4 different levels of 383 kits. My 383 is eagle and so is my 427 ls1 (425 actually) Good stuff at a good price and both were perfectly balanced from the factory.... Good luck!

I run PowerHouses 383 Forged kit. No problems what so ever. i think i paid $1200 for crank, 5.7 rods, pistons, (all forged). Balanced, with balancer flexplate, gasket kit, Bearings, rings. ect ect.

DO NOT GO TO CNC MOTORSPORTS in South Dakota. They sent me a Non-Roller 1 piece rear main seal motor, when knowing it was going into a 1991 Camaro. Then refused anything but me paying for shipping cost both ways for a refund, I only own 91 or 92 camaros and would never buy a non roller block. SO NOW IT'S MY TURN
