NOS solenoids on a zex perimiter plate
I am having sme problems here with my nitrous setup. Like i stated in the title NOS solenoids for a efi system on a carbed 383 with a zex perimiter plate.
On a supposed 150 shot i only picked up 92 hp. I had a full bottle and afr was 12.9 13.0
now i used the jetting they said for a NOS cheater system, but my solenoids are much smaller. They were from a snyper kit from NOS. would that be an issue? maybe less flow or seomthing, but i thought jets are jets right? doesnt matter the solenoids? or maybe im maxing it out

Re: NOS solenoids on a zex perimiter plate
depends on the solenoids orfice. If its got a small exit/inlet hole, then its only gonna flow so much. However i wouldnt think that be the case, as most solenoids out there are the SAME type just with different brand name on it. Alot of 150 shot systems use a .078" outlet solenoid and larger shots use the bigger .125" outlet. I do see some systems using the larger size tho for their 150 kits but thats besides the point.
A EFI kit with 45 psi fuel pressure and 950 psi uses a .062" single jet in a nozzle for a 150 shot, so that solenoid with a .078 will be good for only like 230 whp generally if all is perfect.
So if those solenoids have a tiny port, which is unlikely you may not get all the flow you need. BUT you have to check to see how big those solenoids are and what size orfice they have
The issue here i think is fuel pressure and jet size. Nitrous hp shots are just jet size, bottle pressure and fuel pressure for wet kits. So what is the size of the jet you have in there right now? What is your fuel pressure set at?
And 13.0 to 1 is abit lean for my liking. I'd go more for 12.0 to 1

Well thats in 40 degree weather.fuel on the fuel soleniod is race gas.
also its a .065 jet for the nitrous and a 73 for the fuel
now the solenoids were only rated for a 150 kit, but for efi. is that a problem there? fuel pressure is at 6.5-7
