Whats used for timing and fuel?

Im just wondering what you guys use to adjust your timing and fuel when you turbo. Like do you put a stand alone in, do you use stock ECU with adds. What do you use, etc.

Id appreciate any info I can get, Thank you

Re: Whats used for timing and fuel?

I repinned my car for use with the 59 code from http://www.code59.org using a GM 730 ECM. Basically converted the car over to the 91-92 SD system with a few more pin changes and new code.

BTW wideband O2 is a must!

Re: Whats used for timing and fuel?

i run the same thing on my turbo car. a 730 ecm with the code59 def file installed in it. It is good up to 30 lbs of boost. so far working but not as easy as 8d which i am used to tuning and ee lt1 stuff but it is working . and tony89gta i have the new afr eliminator heads on mine and they are sweet. I had a old set of afr 190s on my lt1 and these are so much better especially the new ls1 style valve guide size and small springs they use. I got the ported ones and flow right at 300 cfm at 650 lift.

Re: Whats used for timing and fuel?

I'm using a stand alone - the Holley commander 950 ecu. It's very user friendly and changing the fuel and timing tables are easy. The hard part is finding what your engine wants.
