Which nitrous kit and what to expect for a TPI 350?

I am thinking of getting a nitrous kit for my formula 350. The car is all stock except it has long tube headers and a full exhaust. I have never ran this car at the track yet, I would expect it to be around a 13.8 as it sits with some drag radials???? If I get nitrous, what would be the kit to get, safest and most reliable kit?? What amount of spray could a stock L98 handle? What else would I need to get, anything for a fuel system/bigger pump. Would I need a custome computer chip/tune. I would for sure put it on a dyno to measure air/fuel and see the numbers. How much can I spray?? What 1/4 mile times would I expect to see with spray, say 75 hp kit or a 175 shot??? I'm very new these cars and want to do my homework first before I get a kit. Any specific spark plug/gap to use. how about timing? I don't want to spend a fortune on stuff I don't need. I need to shut someone I know up who beat me with my other car, I need to give him a spanking. Any ideas!!

Well,I had a 85 IROC 305 auto, TPIS adjustable fuel pressure reg. set @ 52 psi, stock pump, Hedman 1 5/8 shortie headers, no cat, flowmaster muff, 3.42 gear (factory) K&N filters,TPIS throttle body airfoil.I ran the coldest A/C Delco spark plug Autozone had, stock computer.I had an old Compucar plate kit jetted for 150 and it LOVED it.You are wasting time with anything under 125hp in my opinion.I tried the 90 horse jets in mine first and was very disappointed. It sure supprised alot of 5.0 mustangs in its time,I never took it to the track, but it felt strong for what it was.

I ran a Harris Speed works kit on my stealth ram motor. Its designed for a LT1 car so i had to make some brackets to fit everything where i wanted it, but they can make you a nice kit with custom lines if you measure what you need.

Else NOS make a nice TPI plate kit, up to 150 shot. I'm sure others do too but i dont know for sure

For a stock L98, i wouldnt want to run anymore than a 125 shot. Run a step colder plug than stock and use a tighter gap... .030-.035 or so.

Pull 4 degrees of timing atleast to be safe. Keep air fuel ratio in the 11.0-11.5 range. A motor built alittle stronger with good efficient heads and good ignition can run leaner and pull less timing but for stock L98 i would keep some timing out of it, and keep it on the richer side.

Stock fuel system shall handle it if its a wet kit. I'd run only wet kits as a dry kit will need fuel compensation thru injectors and chip tune.

IF you can run a 13.8 or so now, a 125 shot should get you in the high 12's depending on traction

Re: Which nitrous kit and what to expect for a TPI 350?

Well guys, thanks a bunch for the help. Unfortunatly I have recently ran into some financial issues and won't be able to afford a nitrous kit, I actually may be putting the car up for sale soon. I will show these posts to a friend of mine who has a GTA who may be installing nitrous as well. Thanks!!!
