Intake Choices

What is a good intake for a low PSI twin turbo carb set up? I'm not looking for huge power, I would prefer good street-drive-ability.

I'm probably looking at 8-10 PSI setup, maybe hit the track once or twice, but this will basically be a street car, 355 SBC, 3.42 gears and a 6 speed.

Should I go single plane or dual plane? Air Gap style?

Re: Intake Choices

first off, beautiful car! Im doing the same but red/black.

I would go with a vic jr, thats what I will be running on my street/strip 15-20psi car. Plan on running 9's. It will still be very streetable and being 6 speed im sure you rev over 6000 so it will help on top end.

A few of my buddys use them on there LS cars and like them other then they are N/A and have an elbow which is killing the power.

Im gonna go with the Victor E and have a fast 4bb throttle body and extreme velocity o-ring carb hat.

This car probably wont really see anything over 6000rpm, it will be driven conservativley.

Re: Intake Choices

You want a single plane for better cylinder distribution under boost. When I had a blowthru carb, I used the torker II, b/c I had the stock hood and it was one of the shortest intakes. With your cowl hood, you probably could find something better.

Re: Intake Choices

Performer RPM air gap may also be a good choice, my dad likes his, his motor makes 470/470 N/A with it.

Re: Intake Choices

Well from some research on the trusty internet it looks like the Victor is the intake of choice as it will allow a better flow of fuel/air for boosted applications.

Single plane is the only way to go on a boosted application. There are several brands that will work for you. ie. Brodix,Dart, Sniper, Edelbrock.
