TBI 350 Nitrous

I did a 305 to 350 swap a few months ago, and Im trying to squeeze as much extra hp as I can from my setup. My setup includes a stock 350 short block, stock 350 tpi heads, a GM perfomance ZZ4 hydr roller cam .484 intake .510 exh, eldbrock tubular headers, flowmaster 3in cat back, 3in cat, a custom tuned chip from tbichips.com, 46mm bored tbi body from turbocity, 350 flow matched injectors, crossfire adj reg set to 17psi, 2400 stall converter, 10 vain 700r4, and stock rs 2.73 gears. The car is pretty quick I spanked a few z28's and took a newer audi on the highway late one night. I want to put nitrous on the car but Im not sure how much I should spray, I want to spray 75 but im not sure if im going to damage something. Any ideas?

you'll be fine with a 75 shot just retard the timing, I let my dad retard it for me on my car but I believe the general rule of thumb is 3 degrees per 100 shot. And don't use it for more then like 15 seconds at a time, I suffered severe blow-by for spraying away an entire bottle at once (If you want to be super safe use plasma oil rings and maybe even water/meth).

And only use it at WOT.

Do you think ill be safe with cast rings? Im making 320 at the wheels right now with a 2 bolt main 350. Is it even wise to spray more than a 50 shot? I just dint want to blow my mains, thats the real issue I have with the nitrous thing. How far can I push a 2 bolt main?

Re: TBI 350 Nitrous

actually i might take that statement back. I wasn't estimating that much power being made. I don't think 2 bolts are good for more then 400-450 at the crank without being splayed.

Re: TBI 350 Nitrous

I prob shouldnt even be thinking about nitrous then. Im pretty close to the on paper limit. Im just looking to get another 20 or 30 hp, that will prob keep me happy for a while. What do you think abouth those under drive pulley systems? are they worth the money? they claim to free up like 15 hp between the water pump alternator and crank.

Re: TBI 350 Nitrous

I have heard the underdrive pulleys free up a bit of power (seems to be very common for the 4th gens to do), if you really want to go nuts you can eliminate the waterpump pulley by running an electric waterpump as well.

Re: TBI 350 Nitrous

The car is a everyday driver, and I have heard bad things about using a electric water pump on a daily driver. I heard they are great for track racing and stuff though. So I dont think ill do that.
