lt1 aspiration help

i have a 1988 camaro and i was looking at ways to give my stock 1996 lt1 boost, i considered a turbo kit, but i think i would be better off to put an eaton roots style supercharger on it, i will not put a procharger on my car, i refuse, but i wanted to know the amount of work needed and the price of a good roots charger.

thanks

Re: lt1 aspiration help

why not a procharger ?
i prefer a turbo myself , thats because i like the ability to raise boost levels without physically changing anything . by this i mean it's simple to have different boost maps setup foor different driving situations . my car is a daily driver so there are times when different boost maps are useful . i'm not a big n2o fan cause once the bottles empty your power is gone , a supercharger you have to change pulleys to raise / lower boost .

Re: lt1 aspiration help

ya, thats true, i like that superchargers are putting in constant air, even at low rpms, but i just dont like the prochargers, they dont put that much boost in and its in my opinion like something you put on some import as a source of cheap power, plus prochargers dont look or sound near as good as turbos, and especially not superchargers, plus superchargers are liquid cooled, so they put in cooler air
