Yeah there are a few...how fast is fast?
I've done 9.72 at 142 in maryland and 9.86 at 141 on pump gas at my hometown pittsburgh track. Mild 401sbc twin 60mm turbos EFI
superirocz has been 9.7's at over 147mph. 406sbc i believe with twin 70mm on drag radials...street trim
leeperryracing is building a twin 76mm 401sbc that should also be deep 9's with 8 second capable power.
fast82z has a 406 with a single 91mm setup coming along if not already done...it should be pretty bad *** but not sure where he is with that setup. I think his old 383 with 91mm went 9.4's at 142..more of a drag setup on his car but nice setup nonetheless
I think we all could get 8s in a more drag setup with good gas and more boost. I've only ran 15-16psi and pump except for a bit of 110 in maryland to experiment. I'm going twin 70mm's this upcoming year so hope to see more fast times.

Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
See I thought the 60's had alot more in them but everyone I know building 400 inch motors or larger, either sbc or lsx were using 70's. I want to go 8's and I know 70's have enough to support 1400hp but just wasnt sure how far I could go on 60's. The car didnt pickup as much as I thought it would going from 12-13 psi to 14-15 and then to 16-18 but it was abit rich on the higher boost levels. I got small heads on the car too so that may be hurting things abit.
did you have the same turbine side? My 60's light off in an instant, makes it undriveable on the street from a roll below 60mph. Alittle lag would hopefully help it "roll" into the power and keep traction
the next year we went to twin 70's and we got the car to go 8.15@173 by the end of the year...spool up was a little slower though

Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
mine is coming together nicely, just got my th400 t-brake valve body from "fast383" here on the boards, he works for transmission specialties...no BS, he'll hook you up plain and straight!! Pretty much identical motor to Orr89RocZ down to the shp block, twin 76s with .81 ar housings, 9:1cr, blow-thru carb on e85(no IC), will run a water injection kit later on if deemed necessary. Planning on running 7-8psi per turbo and shoot for mid 9s or so with 3.23 gears and 28" tires @ 5280ft altitude which royally sucks for racing!!!
Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
I think the cars spoken about on here are more steet then race cars witch is very cool. I ran my car with the 17s on all 4 corners and still run the kyb gr2 shocks and struts and stock iroc springs etc.
I will be putting a new set of heads and cam in my car this winter along with a T-brake to up the ante
. I have a nice set of heads for sale like new

Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
i love fast street cars, especially turbo cars ... when i went 8.00's with my twin turbo t-type it had factory leather seats, all power ,full moonroof, all factory steel except hood.. my new twin turbo iroc is all factory steel except hood, 3300lbs.,drag radials,no wheelie bars and it should go in the sixes and over 220 .. i know its not a legit street car like your guys's but im trying to keep it as street looking as possible , except under the hood..

please keep us informed on that build. Thats a tall order to do 220+ You must have some budget
Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
its a all aluminum 548 with twin promod 91 turbo's .. there already 3 or 4 guys that have my combo that have gone 220+ in the quarter so i hope im right there with them .. as for budget this is my fifth turbo car that ive built and i have no idea why i sink all this money in these cars ..
Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
like i said before its all factory body panels ,factory floor, factory glass, factory dash and door panels with custom carpet ..besides the wing and dual chutes you'd never know how fast it was going to go ..

Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
As said above, my 91mm on the 383 a couple years ago made 9.4's at 142-144. Never got spooling and traction to cooperate together with the altered setup and the 406, but with this and a tighter converter I got 146mph out of 15psi. Converting to twin 70's this winter that hopefully will solve the spooling and traction issues so I can easily crank out the 8.90e.t. that the 147mph suggests as well as plenty of growth to go faster. Don't think I'd really call my car a "street car" although it can be street driven and runs on pump gas, but I do call it a sleeper since it looks stock other than the roll cage or equipment hidden under the stock hood.
Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
all new tubular bracing has been made to bolt the factory front clip back on .. i saved alot a weight and made the turbo install alot neater..

I like the turbos out in front like that. With my car I would reallly have to move the radiator/fans up under the nose to allow turbos to sit in there, but then again not sure where I'd put the intercooler.

Ray Jr.. That is awsome! Nice looking setup.
I'm the only V6 on this site.. Got a buddy with another Buick Powered Iroc that's been 9.40's
Hope I can get some single digit passes still on pump gas next year.

Re: who's the fastest turbo car on the forum ??
twin 60's made somewhere north of 800 hp on motor on my car with plenty of room for more. They should be good for 1100 or so depending on motor combination.
Twin 50's pushed right could do 700-800 I think...but be alittle on the smaller side. I ran 14-15psi to be somewhere estimated at 800-850. Its 650-ish whp on mustang dyno on loose converter. Cant wait to dyno it again with the newer converter

That orange looks killer. I was looking at a dark orange for my car but wasn't sure how well it would turn out. What color is that? Oh and the turbo setup is sweet too. IDK how I missed that lol.
