single mpt70 blow thru goes 11.89@112

Took the car to the track yesterday after installing the new tubular kmember and solid mounts and it ran
rt_______.2397
60ft_____1.649
330ft____4.809
1/8et____7.502
1/8mph___90.21
1/4et_____11.894
1/4mph____112.05

3200 stall converter but i was only stalling up to about 2500 leaving at 0psi 3.45 gears and 28" tall tire. 7psi spring in the wastegate untouched. Pulling about 2*/lb of boost 11.6 AFR @ WOT. pretty much stock 350 with single plane intake and small roller cam
What do you guys think?

Sounds good to me. Your results are similar to mine (yours better and on less boost, mine on stock cam and tpi). My friend's firebird is set up similar to yours except with a 150 shot instead of a turbo and a six speed. Stock vortec 350 with a cam and carb intake. His 1/8th times are nearly identical to yours. Of course he only gets around 7 or 8 passes before he has to go do the $30 nitrous refill

Sure feels good to have that unlimited supply of boost though, doesn't it? What kind of tires are you running?

How has the CSU blow thru experience been for you? My friend with the TA just ordered one. He's going V1.. I tried and tried again to talk him into turbocharging. We'll see how the belts hold up.

You will not beleive this but im impressed by their work. I didnt buy one of their carbs but i sent mine in to have it modified and it was worth every penny. I pretty much spent the same amount as a new csu carb bc i bought my carb brand new plus the prep work.
The way Kevin jetted it and modified it all got me a 11.6 afr WOT out of the box, all i did was adjust the idle screws i was absolutely impressed. The afrs at wot were dead steady.
I can deffinately vouch for those guys, im glad i got them to prep it.

Very good results for your first time out and on low boost too. Keep tuning and have fun.

Re: single mpt70 blow thru goes 11.89@112

I have a blown headgasket now. that lasted long sikkkkee. I knew this would happen eventually this engine was never built for boost or with any future plans of racing it, but that was 5 years ago, 20000 miles and 200+ track passes later just a headgasket? not bad imo.

I think i might have lifted the head when my transmission missed a shift and the engine hit the rev limiter. 6400rpm limiter with no load will act as a 2 step and build some boost lol

I will make sure everything else is okay and put on a ported set of dart 200cc heads i have to replace the very restrictive stock FEDEX truck heads. that with better tuning of ignition/fuel/suspension and the car will go low 11s.

If something else is wrong, then i will just drop in the forged 383 engine ive been building on the side.

Im still very happy with the results.

Not bad for the first time out! Great 60 foot and every nice ET for the power/mph. Was gonna recommend trying closer to 1 deg of timing pulled per PSI if starting at 34 deg total. Might beable to find abit more power in it.

Oh well, look forward to seeing what the heads and maybe abit better cam will do. Should really wake up if the bottom end holds.

I ended up taking the engine out and taking it all apart I said eff it andordered almost everything for the the 383 I just need to find a decent set ofdish pistons around -20cc for a 6" ror. Diamond makes one so ill prolly settle for those.

I'm gonna need a bigger turbo 10s shouldn't be a problem with the new setup an more boost

Re: single mpt70 blow thru goes 11.89@112

Too bad about the head gasket. Lots of power left in the T70 yet.

I used the china single turbo headers on my old gta along with a MP t70 .96ar.

The car went 11.12@124mph @ 12-13psi. It went 12.9@104mph N/A.
Fuel injected, 8.5:1 compression, 94 octane, 26deg timing at full boost. It did 117mph the first time out at the same boost level but 20deg timing. Gained 7mph by upping timing 6deg and removing the muffler (hooker aerochamber).

Couldn't get the car to 60ft with a 3400 stall though... 1.64ish with no spin.
