P600 belt routing.

I just installed a used P600 on my '91 Z28 and I'm having a problem with the belt routing. I have the instruction manual which is useless for most things, including showing how to route the belt. Does anyone have a pic. they can post, or describe how it goes. I had it ran over the crank and blower with the non ribbed side on the top of both idler wheels and it jumped off and shredded as soon as I fired it up and gave it a little throttle.

Re: P600 belt routing.

It sounds like you had it routed correctly. Make sure all the pulleys are perfectly lined up and make sure the crank pulley is turning true.

Re: P600 belt routing.

Everything is lined up properly. The instructions say nothing about putting the P600 belt on, and I've searched for a week for a good pic of the belt routing. No has a picture of how the belt should be run?

Re: P600 belt routing.

Sounds like you had it correct.

it should lay on top of both the pulleys seen on this picture.

I have more pictures at home, but it sound like you had it correct........ A spring loaded tensioner it a good thing to build since the ATI tensioner is crap on theese old setups...

Re: P600 belt routing.

Thanks, gta324. I plan on switching to a spring tensioner soon. Do you know of a tensioner that works well for this setup?
