Fuel/nitrous
Ok so im new to nitrous, i understand the more fuel is needed when introducing nitrous oxide into your motor. i currently have a mild built 350, just wanting to try a 100 shot.
which leads me to my questions
what exactly does the fuel solenoid do?
and i recently switched from tbi to carb, would i need to increase the fuel pressure from the regulator?

Re: Fuel/nitrous
Fuel solenoid does what the n20 solenoid does. Opens same time. each has a seperate jet. I ran the 75 HP jetting per NOS recommendation and found too rich. So i went one size larger on N20 jet. Seems about right now. Need more runs B4 I move to 100 HP.
I think i found out I need an ignition box and remote coil... I may need to step up to larger fuel pump with 100 jet.
ps I am with 80 lbs injectors at 26 lbs FP. Yes up FP.

Re: Fuel/nitrous
If you get a cabr kit, you run carb fuel pressures. 5-7psi
If you run a TPI or LT! kit you run EFI fuel pressure.
extremely different jet sizes when trying to run 6 psi instead of 45psi..
Your TBI fuel system runs at like 12-15psi if I remember correctly.. which means you need an adjustable fuelpressure regulator to lower it to 6psi for a car style nitrous kit or you need a completely different fuel pump and new regulator if you want it to run 45+psi and run an EFI nitrous kit..
In the end... you are injecting extra oxygen into the engine and to make more power you inject fuel right along with it and the KABOOM in the cylinder is bigger.. resulting in more power.
do more reading. goodluck! it's fun if nothing breaks.
Edit.. I reccomend the Nitrous Express Stage 6 plate kit for a Carb. it's jetting was spot on and it ran great for me.
Also, an aeromotive universal bypass FPR works good as does a mallory bypass style regulator

Re: Fuel/nitrous
Your gonna need a good fuel psi regulator ex: aeromotive, magnafuel etc... if you want it to last with the stock pump. But all you have to do is reduce fuel psi to 5-6 psi with it and turn the nitrous bottle off and take fuel line to the fuel solenoid loose with the car idling and spray it into a 2 litre bottle and verify you have the fuel psi. be very careful and dont burn the car to the ground!
