yay the fun part begins. comments, suggestions, opinions on the rebuild? the sky is the limit .... as long as its with in a budget of 4k lol that's what i have set aside for the rebuild of the motor. i already have my eye on a pair of rhs heads. basically because for the price of them new is about what it would cost to have mine reworked.. well from the quotes iv received so far

Re: 5.3 twin turbo
so i have the motor down to the block... what can i use to clean the parts. the block is getting sent out for honing, cam bearings, cleaned etc. but the rods, rockers, lifters etc. i'd like to get them all cleaned up and then re oiled but i don't want to do any damage(if that's possible from cleaning them) i heard someone say just soak them in gas and then oil them after they are clean. any input, info ?

Re: 5.3 twin turbo
lol the headlight bezels are going to be black i thought i'd see what it would look like red and i agree it looks cheesy. I'll post up some pics of it on the ground in a few days. I'm waiting for some new studs for the front tires before i put it on the ground.

Re: 5.3 twin turbo
just a quick update, been a while since i posted anything. basically haven't done anything to it. we bought another house and just moved in to it so i have some pole barn fixing up to do before i jump back on the camaro.... oh and that whole wife wanting me to paint stuff... pshh woman lol anyway here its is on the car dolly, one of the underside just cuz it was easy to get a pic and that underside is just plain sexy to me lol and then one of it in the new pole barn which is soon to be the ultimate man cave with workshop, car hoist and monster stereo system... i think that about all you need to call it a man cave lol i should be working on it mid next month and i'll give some updates then.

Re: 5.3 twin turbo
I had some trouble with a machine shop was in the process of moving and had a moment of frustration and sold it. It did get finished by the guy who bought it but not with the 5.3.
I ended up buying a 94 corvette, tore it down, rebuilt it from front to back and turned it into a monster.
Currently i am building my own car now from the ground up. Actually building two of them. One with a twin turbo(gt35's) 5.3 mated to an audi trans and the second a 383 lt4 mated to a porsche boxster S trans. They are not replicas. I have the molds and im not sure i will make anymore after they are done. Both will be around 600hp and are mid-engine configuration. Wheel base of 107 and bieght of 40"
Im on my phone so if it will let me there will be a pic attached you im just updating my addiction to cars lol
Pic is of the body panels just clamped together for the pic.

Re: 5.3 twin turbo
Its not anything. Its a one off on custom chassis. Should roughly weigh 2200lbs, have about 600hp(mine) and be a sick sick daily driver lol
The other will be around 750hp. The only thing replica in one of them will be a lamborghini diable dash just because thats my favorite dash out there. The other one im building for my brother will be all custom interior, utilizing ipads, slap shift on the column and a boot load of other crazy cool stuff.
In short my big bro is well off and offered to fund the build if i built him one along with mine.
Ask any questions i love talking a out this project
The pic in this post is the buck made to create the molds. Sorry about the upside down pic...smart phones are stupid lol
