I've got a nitrous kit I picked up for cheap.
It's a NOS SNIPER system.
I recently rebuild a 350.
It's basically stock crank, reconditioned rods and hypereutectic pistons.
I've been told by some mechanics that hypers dont go well
With nitrous no.matter what. Others have been telling me it'll
Be fine if I tune it rite on and not to big of a shot.
That's one of.my concerns. I've never messed with nitrous
So its kind of confusing.

The other item I've never messed with is a stall converter for it.
I got a 304 isky mega cam and I'm looking for a 3500-4000 stall.
But since I want nitrous I need anti balloon plate.
My concern is if a torque converter with anti balloon plates is as reliable as
One without anti balloon plates. And do I really need an anti.balloon plates if I don't plan on
Bigger then a 100 shot

Re: nitrous questions
You can spray just watch tune and timing. Step colder plug. Get anti ballooing plate converter. Thats a big cam for a mild 350, definately needs alot of stall

Re: nitrous questions
What heads and intake? If not trying to spin high and with decent heads could gain abit better performance with a modern lobe smaller cam

Re: nitrous questions
I dont see it working well with tiny 305 heads. I would change to a more appropriate size cam and run it hard that way. Would be much stronger on the street in useable rpm ranges. Just my two cents

Re: nitrous questions
Need to be careful tho, a thread was posted a little while ago by Atilla the Fun and showed that alot of people are finding cracked vortecs in the yards. May be worth while to buy a new set for 350-450 bucks from scoggin dickey

Re: nitrous questions
Just saying you may spend alot of time and effort looking and not find a suitable casting. You may luck out. Hard to say

No they dont. There is no difference between the two heads except for their appearence on the outside. There's been a couple threads on this previously.

Not true, the xxx(cant remember which one out of the two think the 906, or whichever one does not have the saw tooth pattern on the outside of the head) have the hardened exhaust seats that apparently hurt low lift flow.....I have the ones with the hardened seats and my brother previously had the ones without. Without testing cfm, I would argue that it would probably be a difference of 10cfm in stock form. The hardened seats had a bit more shrouding around the valve......pocket porting fixed that.

Re: nitrous questions
Again, there was a thread on this about how a magazine posted misinformation. I cannot find it right now. Maybe someone else will chime in and help me out here.

Re: nitrous questions
Here is another article cant find the other...

http://www.onedirt.com/tech-stories/...k-chevy-heads/

"The L31 Vortec comes in two different casting numbers, 10239906 (#906) or 12558062 (#062). Originally, the stock #906 casting head was available in two versions. One version had an Inconel exhaust seat with single angle valve grind and was available on 1 ton trucks. The other version was the traditional three angle valve grind. Other than that, the #906 is the same as the #062 head"

Re: nitrous questions
Then whats the purpose of a 3 angle valve grind if flow is the same?
