Well taxes are back im starting to buy the stuff for my camaro to get it ready.
i'm using a stock 350 fresh bottom end high vol oil pump.
my goals are to push the block to its full potential with out trying to sail a rod, if it happens ive got more blocks and time on my hands.
i'm keeping fuel injected, i've got 8 450CC injectors out of a turbo talon, will these be big enough? will i need to upgrade the fuel pump? i will be sending it off to a local dyno tuner to get it tuned as well
now for the turbo, currently i have a HX50, i'm wondering if i should go with a T6 Framed turbocharger, i found a detroit diesel turbo locally came off a 15L inline 6.

473cc/hr is the roughly the same as a 45lb/hr injector I would assume that your ceiling for injector would be plenty high depending on how far you take the car with boost.
8x45x.80(injec duty cycle)
divided by roughly .55 bsfc = 523 horsepower. Now this is at 80% DC and also 43.5Psi of fuel pressure.
But the thing that comes to mind is will those injectors work/fit on your engine. Are they low z injectors? Im just not educated on what was in those engines as for the injector type and harness.
Also IIRC a HX50 turbo is off a diesel?? Im not sure on the spec but if it were me I would just go look for a turbo that has the specs that you need for the application. Who knows how massive the a/r is on the turbo or what the turbin size exc....... It might be completly wrong for your application. But I cant say for sure because I have no idea the specs on the turbo.

45's should support 550 whp. Not to familiar with the hx model turbos so i cant say how much power is possible.
Should consider new walbro 255 with a hotwire kit to make sure it has full 13.5-14.0 volts off alternator. That will do 550 whp.
If you wanna split blocks you may need 80-105 lb injectors and maybe two of those turbos? How big is the compressor wheel? Really dont need a big T6 unless you have big cubes or pushing huge power with that 350. A good sized T4 frame can support 1000 whp on some motors. Definately good to 800

Looks almost like a gt45 ebay turbo by the specs. Large turbine wheel. Should easily support 800hp but whats the exhaust housing a/r? Or holset measures in cm squared? I dont think you will need a t6. That hotside if a/r is .8-1.1 should have no issue maxing out both fuel pump and injectors, however a 66/99 comp wheel is likely done by 600-800 depending on design. If older technology it wont flow quite as much as new wheels in similar diameter. Either way i think thats plenty of turbo for what you are doing, if shooting for a 10 sec 550-600 whp car on single pump. Else you need 2 pumps and double injector siZe and max out the turbo, 700 whp+ maybe

IIRC our ecm injector driver can NOT support low Z injectors. Are you planning on having the stock ecm tuned or running a stand alone system such as mega squirt?
If no one chimes in about the low z injectors you may want to do a little searching but im about 99% positve you cant use low independence injectors with our ecm.

Correct the stock 3rd gen ones cant. But if you are speed density you could run a 749 ecm out of a turbo sunbird/syclone/typhoon and use code $59 for boost control

u can use them with the stock ecm's with a resistor pack lots of oems used to do this and u can find the packs on junkyard cars or just buy the resitors and make ur own .
i dont recomend doing that though as the nice thing about low-z injectors is they open faster and also can idle at a much smaller pulse width then a high-z injector
example my tt iroc im getting 160# injectors at idle the pulsewidth would be so small the injector would never open so i would have to jack up the idle pulse width to get them to open and then the engine would be pig rich , with the low-z injector they open fast enough and will operate with a much smaller pulse width i can get the car to idle on them
The DSM injectors are indeed low Zs. Radio Shack sells resistors for about 10-15 bucks you can get some 8 ohm resistors hook one in series per injector and you're golden.
I think you may also need to increase the size of the holes in the intake for them. Don't quote me on that as it's been a while. If you wanted something later you could get some 560s from EVOs and they'll be ~50lb/hr.
160s are cool, but way over sized. I'd go with some 60s-80s and be done with it unless you're thinking alcohol of some kind. You'll need a hell of a pump to run 160s and use em too.

Id be willing to bet you can pick up a set cheep from southbay. My 48lbs ones were about 130-140 bucks IIRC so if you got eight they would probly be under 200 bucks. Step up to 60lbs ones and your good for plenty of HP

i do have a 3 bar from when i had my honda, i've hear from mouth that the mass air flow was the way to go for Forced induction?

also for tuning the car as well, what do you recommend for tuning, i do have a Moats, and a Burner from when i had my honda, so do have some of the gear left from that to tune with, what is prefered?
If you have a 3 bar and have moates/burner, you might as well try the map based tpi stuff, with 730 ecm running code mask $59.

If you put a 749 ECM instead of 730 then you can wire it without the resistors. No resistors means that the fast open & close times are retained. The 749 requires an internal resistor and MOSFET update to handle the additional current.Originally Posted by cdawg

Run $59 and try that out if you have the moates stuff to do so. And speed density is sure alot easier to tune i think. But then again Ive never really got into MAF much except helping a few friends with there older tpi's.
