the smog hog pump

anyone have a somewhat educated guess on hp to drive the smog hog pump?

if you remove it let me know how it goes i want to remove mine for room i have no emissions siffing testing here so it will be fine to remove it. Removing it wont be too bad just have to find the correct belt for it.

Best way to go is to find a '87 - '89 2.8l automatic 3rd gen in the JY. They used an idler set up in place of the smog pump. Grab the idler set up and can then use a stock belt for the same car.

The idler is important when running A/C, it prevents that long length of belt on that side from whipping. If no A/C it is still better to have it, but it isn't as critical.
