bitten by the boost bug
I had a 97 eclipse gsx that I built and was a lot of fun. Now I'm trying to focus back on my passion for my 383 powered t/a. Its running around 10:1 or a little more compression on stock rods and crank, hyper pistons with Afr 195 heads, all ARP hard ware and a 750 mighty demon carb. I was thinking of adding a turbo and running 8 to 10 psi. I know I'll have to change carb to a blow through style. I was thinking of a mp gt45 turbo. What would be best and how far could I safely push it and what possible HP could I squeeze out of it. I estimate right now im at 400rwhp NA. Im also trying to limit rpm to about 6k if possible.

I'd start by beefing the bottom end up a bit. I can't see the stock bottom end and hyper pistons for very long. It's also a good opportunity to get new pistons and drop your compression a bit, as 10:1 is a bit high for a pump gas turbo engine

stock rods are gonna hurt it. I wouldnt try more than 450-500 whp. Even thats iffy. And you'll hit that power on a few psi but i'd go vs racing 7875 turbo or gt45 series 75-80mm upgrade
