Here it is; A 26+ years old, over 150,000 miles, never openned and 100% stock long block that is still making decent numbers with turbo power and tune. Energizer's Bunny just could'nt keep up, Chevy engines are just the best!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

How high did you spin the engine during the dyno session?
How are you tuning boost, which system...?

I rev'ed the engine up to 6,500 which came surprisingly fast concidering the fully stock long block.
Boost is controlled via single Tial WG and a conventional air pressure regulator and solenoid rig for high and low boost setting.
Low boost is set at 7psi which gave 340rwhp with closed cutout exhaust valve. High boost is set at around 15psi which gave 470rwhp with opened cutout valve.
The cutout valve alone when opened was a 20rwhp gain.
500rwhp was easily doable, but we preffered to mantain the engine rich and happy, with no more than the 15psi mark and with conservative timming due to it's age. You can see in the video exhaust fumes comming out from the back of the car. The GTA is a full passenger side exhaust, those fumes came from the blow-by hoses connected to the valve covers so you know piston rings are not at their best.

Re: BBSDesigns Track & Solo1 GTA Racer Latest Dyno Pull
Thanks!
I do have a new complete engine (new block and new parts in boxes) with 900hp+ capability, but I think that will not happen anytime soon. Plans are to refresh the current engine and stay in the 500hp range. Also anything over 500hp for road racing requires serious traction which I currently dont have.
I'll be attending a Solo1/Track Time event this Sunday, I will post pics and vids.
