Supercharger cold air intake.

So i recently supercharged my car a few weeks ago, and ive come to the conclusion that the factory vortech air filter sitting over the header kinda kills power. Car run substantially stronger in the mornings when everything is still cool. Has anyone figured out some sort of a cold air intake, or a tubing set up for these? I was thinking along the lines of a 3.5" flexable tubing setup to run inside the D/S fender area but apparently nobody makes 3.5"

you can make your own using Spectre piping. just route as you see fit and weld the pipes together.

i used their 4" diameter pieces to fabricate my own custom CAI system for a '72 Camaro i used to own.

Re: Supercharger cold air intake.

That's a B&M 144 blower with a B&M Superjection EFI system on it. It was basically an analog computer controlled 1,000 cfm carb. I used some short solid Moroso motor mounts to lower the engine about an inch and this whole thing fit under the factory second-gen camaro hood.
I think you can still get parts for this system from the website below. The owner's name is Bruce. Super knowledgable and helpful guy.

Re: Supercharger cold air intake.

I was thinking more along the lines of a plastic/rubber hose, Id have to make some sharp bends between the blower and master cyl

Re: Supercharger cold air intake.

Wrap your driver's side header if you can. also you can make a heat shield out of aluminum from home depot and put it between the filter and header. With my master cylinder so close to the filter, I stopped wasting time trying to make a cold air intake go the the cowl of the hood, I would need a 4inch cowl hood anyway, not enough space under the stock hood for 4" pipe.
