Installation of the CXRacing's Turbo & Intercooler kit for TPI
Two weeks ago I ordered the CX Racing kit for a sbc. They were having an end of the year sale so I bought the turbo kit and intercooler kit separately to get the 10% discount on both and I saved almost $350.00. I received the 3 boxes last week and have yet to really look through them. I just installed a HSR so I need to make sure that it running first before I try my hand at this. Once I know it runs with no leaks, I will upgrade the injectors to 42lbs and install the Walbro 255 pump. Next thing I will install with me a Holley Commander 950 PCM and harness I picked up for cheap to help tune this thing. The Holley setup came with (3) 3.5 floppy discs. Thank god one of the IT folks I work with had a few spare laptops and sold me one with Windows XP installed. It only cost me a 12 pack of Modelo.... Once I have the newer harness and computer in, I can then start on the install of this kit. I have yet to see anyone with this exact kit so I figured I would start a thread! Enjoy. https://www.cxracing.com/turbo-kit/t...-CAMARO8292-IC

Well not the exact kit, but you are about 2 yrs late for that. Already been done, but before installing the headers go ahead and reinforce the welds in collectors because they are paper thin and will crack from the heat. Find a very good person that can stick weld because they will not be able to get the tip of a Mig or Tig to fit in that tight area. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/powe...-hot-side.html
You will not be able to use the factory serpentine set up with that kit either. If you have questions just ask!
Re: CX Racing Turbo Intercooler Manifold Kit Install
Manifolds and crossover pipe are installed for good this time. I still have to plumb the return fuel line, rewire the map sensor to the other side, replace the power steering line with one off an 84 TA, and get a thermostat housing and upper hose. Once I get those done, I'll be able to fire it up and just make sure there aren't any vacuum or oil leaks. Once I know the Stealth Ram works, I'll then install a new fuel pump, get larger injectors and install a Holley Commander 950 harness and ecu I picked up new. Finally, I can get to the turbo build itself once all that is completed. The AC Delete pulley and bracket will be removed and I will just run a belt over the alternator, crank, WP, and PS.

Re: Installation of the CXRacing's Turbo & Intercooler kit for TPI
Living in Utah makes it super difficult to get anything done when it wont stop snowing or raining. Finally the weather cleared up last weekend and it started to feel like Spring. I got the HSR running with the stock harness and 26lb injectors. I wish I could post a video but it wont accept mp4's. At this point I wanted to make sure it ran with no intake leaks or any other issues before I start installing anything else. Next on the list is to swap out my stock harness for a Holley Commander 950 harness and computer. It's an older system and doesnt quite have the tunability (if that's even a word) I'm looking for. My question is, should I hold off with installing this harness and get a newer/better one or install it since its better than stock?

Hello!!! I am installing the same kit on my sons 1987 IROC attaches a couple pics. Currently mocking everything up and it’s quite a chore. The passenger side is a bugger to get the turbo clocked and fitted to the Intercooler. Have a lot of feedback from suppliers on injectors and better manifolds as well as fuel management systems due to the stock computers inadequacy’s. How has your journey been, I dont see any new pictures or finished wisdom... please share!
