Supercharging large cam

I have a built na motor. Currently running a 110 lsa cam 230/234. I came across a vortech v1 that i am almost finished installing. Anyone else run a blower with a high overlap cam? I'm really not enthusiastic about tearing this motor apart to change the cam

Re: Supercharging large cam

Yeah it should be ok enough. Blower cams can tend to be wider lsa and more exhaust duration but not always

Re: Supercharging large cam

All these comp cams and others like them typical 110 LSA and 4 to 6 degress extra exhaust duration work fine for moderate supercharging.
. That cam will work fine.
If you want to enhance it with that cam you can consider moving the cam to enhance the exhaust valve open close events by advancing the cam a bit.
Try a slightly more advanced 104in/116 ex c/L's

That 110 LSA cam is now 6 degrees advanced.

.This helps get the supercharged exhaust out by opening the exhaust valve a hair earlier.
Exhaust blowdown is enhanced.
Also the exhaust closing point closes a hair earlier ATDC which will improve boost response a bit.
It will GLH.

You don't need a "blower cam or a "nitrous cam"
or a cam "with wide LSA" until you get way up on boost well beyond 10++ psi.

Even the typical comp Magnum single pattern cams 110 LSA eg Comp 280H-10 cam work just fine in mild moderate boost low compression ratio street blower engines. Again you can dial these in a bit for the blower by advancing them a bit more than cam card spec. 106/114 centers. I suggest 104/116 centers. It will make great power and torque right where you need it to go fast on the street.

Re: Supercharging large cam

This minor tweek makes that cam more friendly to creating power and torque right where you use it on the street, with the blower.

Re: Supercharging large cam

Which V1 head unit? Blower might be too small for the application.
