Whipple 305sbc

I recently bought an 84 Z28 and it is slow(as u all probably know). The engine was swapped for the same 305 that was in it when stock. I believe there is an upgraded cam and headers, I don't think there is anything else.(its got a four-barrel) I was wondering if this would be a dumb idea to just slap a supercharger on it? Is there a different route I should take for more power? Nothing crazy somewhere around 300, 350ish if possible. I really don't want to swap it, thanks.

There is more to just 'slapping' on a supercharger. you really haven't given it some thought. I'd start reading the forums to see what other people have done, and encountered when installing a supercharger.

If you're a newb at this, then consider losing the four barrel. Not that it can't be made to work well with boost, but you can kinda kill two birds with one stone with what's available today. You would just need a high pressure fuel pump. I picked one of these systems up for my '76 Hurst TA to see what it can do, but haven't installed it yet, waiting for the Winter months. Comes with a built in 3-Bar MAP sensor, offers self tuning which is good for the guys who don't want to or know how to tune, but it also can get in depth with tuning for the guys who do enjoy tuning. Something for you to consider so you don't spend the next few months or years chasing your tail. Would only take 5 to 7 pounds of boost pressure to meet your 350-ish horsepower goal, so boost away, and at that power level your stock ring gap will be fine. Just don't get carried away with it...
