high idle after installing plate

I just installed my nitrous plate under my throtle body of a tbi. I have a edelbrock open element on top. My problem is the car idles at 3 grand right off the bat. When i put it in reverse it kicks stones everywhere. I figured it was a leak so instead of using mr gasket i scraped off that crap and used a real gasket on the plate, but i still have the problem. My breaks arn't working at slow speeds either anyone have any idea???

Check that your throttle cable is allowing the TB to close all the way. It's something that can be simply overlooked.

same thing happened to me when I did my nitrous on my previous 91 RS. When I took the TB off to do the free mods and plate, I disconnected like 3 (i think ) of those 90 degree vaccum hoses. The one on the back I forgot to put back...that was my problem and an EZ fix. So, check that and see if its it. There might even be 4 of those hoses (cant remember)

Welp I finally got it fixed, I completly removed the throttle body and used plenty of gasket maker. I could have made any of those mistakes but redoing the whole process fixed something. My second time i did forget the line in the back thanks for the reminder.
