So far so good. Drove to work on saturday morning at 630am-- tons of snow all over, had to slow down but it's pretty if I can keep my foot out of it. Fun drifting around corners!

Sounds like you guys and gals in Alberta have got the same snow we have here in Sask. I haven't had the Iroc out since it started but if it warms up a bit I will have to try it as it sounds like you people are having too much fun.
Not from alberta...yet! !
Used to live in Edm until '88. Now getting out of the military and coming home ! ! ! Question. What are the standards on registering out of province vehicles? Safety standards to meet? Emmisions? Any assistance would be awesome, or better yet, web links, etc.
Thanks a million. Hope Alberta (et al) get a board soon LOL)

This may not help much military, but here is a number to call. It's (403)520-2000.Its a place here in Calgary called Motor Vehicle Registries direct. When I bought my car it had to be put through a safety cause of its age(91)and because it was an out of province vehicle.Originally registered to a single owner in Sarnia.Hope that phone # helps!

Ryan: Yea see ya at the meet on thursday im gonna get off work early so I will be there on time for once.
Just been working , having a blast with all the german cars and my new found wealth
My IROC is still in BC but its all good, its not just a paint job anymore more like a ground up resto. The only bad thing is the costs are getting a little high but it shouldnt be to bad.
Christine: you sound like your having so much fun it should be illegal
All this talk of winter driving rally style may sound fun ,but Ive seem some real bads wrecks in the last 2 months due to ppl in the conditions doing stupid things. Believe me you do not want it to happen to you, remember if they have the better lawyer its reperations for life. (but it still is fun as hell)

Did u see that Mark A Shields got his own board.
I guess a region 1/5th the size of the US and a population of lets say 4 million is just going to be omitted.
Nice.....

I wouldn't drive my IROC in Penbroke without a good reason. I was working.
Still, I was shot at and attacked by a gang of thugs....but after a few hits with a tie-down belt, they had enough and scampered off.
People who live in Penbroke talk tought **** but beneath it all--they are softies! (that's you Christine!) hahah

How get we get a more effective lobby going to get our own regional board. If Mark can get one for the Thirdgen Nationals surely Western Canada rates a board of their own.

This winter I am replacing my shorty headers with Hooker 2210 long tubes, continuing to lighten the car, installing a roll bar, and hopefully finding the right sized slicks.

I'd be interested 84z28, just as long as it dosn't coincide with mark's thinggy in the east.
what's there to do in regina? i've only been to saskatoon and.. well.. i guess i didn't stay long enough to get to know the town, but it looked pretty void of cool cars.. (odd fourth gen here and there)
and secondly.. i'm probably getting my car back on the road at the end of april, maybe mid may... so..

keep my name on file if you ever want to start something like that..

if people want to, ill try to organize a meet for the summer. I live in White city, a town outside of regina, and im sure i could organize a meet at our community center. Enough room for MANY cars. and then we could go inside for a few drinks and get to know everyone. any ideas? i have never been to a meet before so i dont know what they are all about. we usually hold classic car meets there so it would probably work.
Have u all heard about the thidrgen Calanders that some one is making, I forget his screen name. The seem pretty cool. If anyone in GEN 3 wants one let me know Ill order them so we can save on shipping.

The banging, creaks, groans, shudders and rattles
I hear drive me nuts. Feels like the car was put together with rubber bands and duct tape.
However, next semester I might be drving to school alot less, hence I won't be pissed at my car so much

Mike, fix the creaks and rattles. on mine it's my dash and rear hatch. I have to tighten things up once a year.
the SFC's took a lot of body flex creaking away.

I change my mind on a daily basis. ha
Depends on a few things, if I seel or not--but I think I'm gonna sell my 16" wheels and try to buy back my 15"
Fixing the creaks and rattles is probably beyond me but I'll tighten some things up and maybe stuff some servettes behind the front dash pad, where it meets the glass--you wouldn't believe how terrible the car is for the noise and stuff.

Wassup?
I see we're up to three pages of Canuck talk already. Jer82Z28 reminded me of the thread so I thought I'd get my two bits in.
A Western Canada region sounds like a good idea to me. It would be great for meets and events like that.
Who'd have thunk we could be driving around on dry roads in Alberta at this time of year, it's most bizarre. Is it dry up in G.P there too Jer?

Speaking of dry roads...I saw a last gen Mustang
tonight....with no hood, a blower sticking about 1.5 feet, tubbedd, with wheelie bars...looked nasty..but fast!
Backing to my creaking wreck; I had the CD palyer turned down a bit as I hit the brakes and I heard massive creaking, flexing noises coming for the right side, around the pass door, maybe a little ahead

I have some bad but good news, i am changing all my plans around now for my car, i was in Davenport today and i tlaked to the owner for damn near 3 hours, here is what i come up with THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING
I am getting rid of the stroker and the fuel injection its sold gonzon caputz, i am going with a 350 4bolt main with 360HP naturally asperated, then i am puttin a ATI procharger on it with 5psi of boost, bringing it up to 500HP. So i might not have the money to do the suspensinos and what not, so ill still be spinning them good this year, so this is all in the works now and i will hope to have it all done and tuned by april. I will have hte motor in by christmas, because they are WAY backed up so well see, i still gotta sell my jeep to comeup with the rest of the dough. So it is kinda ****ty taht i have to get rid of my fuel injection but i will trade it for a procharger
My rear end went out today hopefully have it back in a few weeks and put htat in with my new fuel pump. If anyone is intrested in my old motor i am sorry to say its sold.
Oh ya and when is the next meeting ?

Yeah, I know what you mean about pulling the car out of storage. Mine is covered up and the battery is pulled out. Just the other day I cancelled the road insurance on it, so I guess it's staying put.
My ride is a '86 Firebird, originally a 2.8 V6 but I bought it with a dead engine for cheap when I was living up in Yellowknife. The crank was broken right in the middle between throws 3 & 4.
Anyway I've swapped in a 0.060" - over 283, had it balanced, with ARP bolts & head studs, 268H Comp Cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Performer intake & 600 CFM Edelbrock carb.
I'm running the original T5 with goofy low ratios in 1st & 2nd, and 3.42 open rear. The low ratios make for good launching with the torqueless 292, I've had consistent mid 14s @ 104 with the G-Tech Pro but couldn't make it to the track this year. My trunk mounted battery isn't mounted kosher, rubber fuel lines etc...
I'm looking into porting some 416 castings and milling them to get some compression and more low-end, hoping I can keep the car in the 14s with 'em. Like to get a real V8-style T5 too...

Whats wrong with your stroker?
Lemme guess, davenport wants to do all that extra work for ya too
Forgive me I'm not a big davenport fan, it sounds like a money grab if he talked to you for 3 hours convincing you stroker motors suck and that they want to build you and entirely new motor..
hmm..
Is your stroker in your car already?
Rusty, thats a pretty unique car, betcha it's quite a sleeper too!
Hey would 14014416 heads work for you? I have a pair that I was planning to port this winter and sell for some extra cash, but if you want them right now I'll give em to ya for cheap.

Unfortunately the car's idle is rough and loud enough that it has lost the sleeper image. That's what I'm working towards though. Most people are surprised when I tell 'em it's only a worked-over 283 'cause it sounds like more than that.
