IMO, how about we have an award system?
Most of the mods read all of the topics, all of the posts, to
prevent flames and such, how about we just strip off the visible
posts count and add a little thumbs up sign with a number
out beside it to represent the number of thumbs up, or award
marks, that MODERATORS have given people. such people will
only get marks if they post something useful and helpful to
someone's question, or ask a good question, etc.
just an idear..

bout the only time i read everything is if i'm really bored, or if someone alerts me to something being totally awry....

That and a quite a bit of what goes on is opinion based too...I think a merit-based system would cause more problems then you say there already are. And like has been said quite a few times is the fact some newbies may have been GM mechanics from 1982-1992...Honestly, I don't think there is a big enough problem for anything to be changed, from the looks of it it seems to be working just fine like it is....

Wow..interesting.
Why not just base Seniority on tenure rather than post counts? I mean what really classifies one as a "Senior Member" with posts such as "TTT" or "LMFAO" , which I have both done. I don't think a post count means anything significant (No offense to anyone who thinks different).
I've suggested putting "Suspension" or "Transmissions" under names to denote a specialty but that's a lot of work. It could be chosen in the User CP section when you log in though, or chosen after review of how you answer questions in a respective forum.
I really think it's evident after a while to tell who knows their crap and who doesn't. I really have a hard time trusting anyone who can't type in the Queen's English. Diction is a GOOD thing.
Ed, just bein' nice....
PS: HEY! I broke 2K!!!!!

But reviewing all the members and giving them a "specialty" would take a lot of time. Theres nothing you can do, there is always going to be someone who just replies with "looking good" to everything because they think that post count is the most important thing in the world.

Give up, you're not gonna get it back. We warned you that it would happen, and you continued posting garbage.
