possibility of a moderator only board?
i'm wondering of the possibility of having a board available to the moderators where we can discuss any problems with the board, or consult each other for advice on how to handle a situation.
any ideas?
just want to toss that idea out, and see if anyone thinks it'sa good idea.

Hey Robert,
That idea has been around. I think it is a good one. I talked to Dirk about it, and he said that it is possible.
Maybe all of the mods should start bugging him or the new guy...................

I think its a good idea for you guys, and anyway, its not like we'd see it and be taunted by it, If this board software is anything like how mine is, it wont even show up that the board is there unless your logged in as a mod.

you dont, they make you one if they think your worthy, if your around alot, a good "role model" have the knowledge etc.
I think trust and attitude have a lot to do with it. You can be around 24/7 and know your field very well, but if you're difficult or not trustworthy, you have little chances. Because as a moderator, or admin, you can really cause a lot of trouble for the board and the users.

We have one at Automotivesports.net.
Its way eaiser to post a topic for all mods and admins to read rather than individually pm'ing all mods/admins.
Only mods and admins can see the forum. Eveyone else cant.

btw... the last time something was taken to pm was over the c5 brake thread.... i don't think we want a repeat of that.
I think it's a good idea as well. Beats the hell out of PM'ing each and every mod, as opposed to posting one thread and letting every other mod see it.
If there is one, where is it? I'm with Tom...

You are an admin. You will see every board right out of the box, so to say because you're exempt from most rules.
You will have to go into the permissions section under the Forum section and edit the Moderator group for the new board, allowing them to view and access it. When you find the group under the new forum, click on the Use custom settings button and make the right settings.
That is if this board does not use access masks, which it must not. Nor would i really recommend it, just my own opinion.
