It is an inconvenience, but it's needed to help keep the server load within normal operating ranges. If the server load goes too high, which can happen if too many people hammer the search, the entire forums will suffer with slow response and/or to the point of getting the Server Too Busy error at which point no one can use the forums until the server load returns to a normal state. The server already gets loaded down quite often as it is with this large board and activity.

Most vB forums have that flood check in place, some are set higher and some are set lower. Due to the size of this forum and it's rather large activity, it's higher than default value is needed at the moment until TGO does some upgrades.

That's my view of it, but I'm not a TGO guy. Dirk and Iroc are the admins.

That would be really bad. We would get the same questions every day like "what is a 350?"

Is there going to be anything done with the server to allow the search function time limit to go back down (in terms of minimum seconds between searches) at any point?
