Banned Members start new names!
Am I the only one here that is a little tired of banned members constantly starting over with a new name?? I mean if your banned, your no longer allowed to post right? Under what circumstances does a banned member get a new account? And if they're not allowed to have a new account, why aren't they banned again once they are found out? I am just curious, it seems like its the same people that cause problems with everybody else. Is it just me??

The theory, I think, is that they have 'learned their lesson' and are allowed a second chance. I always thought that was what probation was for.
Lately it is getting out of hand. Fart boy is a prime example.
I'd also like to see how many members we really have if all the banned and flotsam member names were deleted. Most other boards require some participation from their members. If you have not posted ever in your two years of registration, why block someone else from using the name?

It is quite evident that we no longer subscribe to that theory.
And the list is much longer than one schmuck.
I think they just got bored after being ignored.

By no means am I saying ban everyone or erase posts. I'm just saying for the repeat offenders, enough is enough. We are all here to learn and share. If you can't play nice your not invited to share.
And that's my point. Well put Parrydise7.
but we've got at least one who doesn't learn his lesson.

There are no names to name. We have all run into this type of cenario. Or have read through many old threads. I just thought it was time this issue was addressed. By the way, if names are named flames will be started.:nono:

in a nutshell, heres the problem:
you cant stop them. IP banning wont work. esp for guys that use AOL.. lol. theres very little you can do.
so you can:
A. ignore them and not make a big deal out of it.. the Trolls eventually get bored, and the guys like Dean (whom half of you are refering to) can also be ignored if needed.... i for one ignore "theRCkid" or whatever his name is.. its not hard.
B. make a huge fuss about it. Trolling to the boards will increase (trust me).. huge rilverys and flame wars will continue.
C. make it a royal bitch to join the site.... only to find that the trolls are still there.. when you "approve" someone, you cant tell who they really are.... and you would turn away alot of people who would have benifited from the site.
the mods have finally chosen option A... and know what? it works alot better then option B did. remember a few years ago when this board was full of "haters" posting crap? its only gotten thru that rough spot by sticking to option A... really its the only one that works at all.

I'd have to disagree with your whole post. The problem years ago were all stemming, mostly, from personal animosity. This rash is because you now can't get banned. There are other underlying issues as well.

MrDude's post pretty much covered it. Sometimes you can do an IP ban but it's rare that it will work. There are times that people will have to keep getting banned everytime they re-register but there's a few other ways to do it and keep people from posting.
If someone is let back with a new name it's usually because it was questionable that they were banned in the first place, which I am always trying to stop and use probation instead, but it happens. It's impossible to watch everyone and everything. If people would just follow what the site asks and not be fools we wouldn't have to do any of it.

Thank's for the official word. I kinda thought from the begining that there are always loop holes. I was just curious why, if it was obvious, somebody was just banned started a new name, why they didn't get that name banned right away. Especially if there is no doubt who they used to be. But, I believe my question was answered. Thank You.
By the way, what happened to the post between the my two posts above???
