With an issue like this, the first two questions usually are what are your settings for the following 2 items:
1) Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)
2) Browse board with cookies?

If you're using the cookie option (recommended) make sure no program is blocking the cookies. If that isn't the issue, then you may need to clear the TGO cookie and revisit the forums, login, to receive a new cookie. Sometimes the cookie becomes corrupt.

Also, everytime you delete all of your temporary internet files it will clear all of your cookies. So if you are a computer "neat freak" like me you will delete them constantly.

Yes, if you specifically set out to delete the cookie, you will have to login back in. You should (normally) receive a new cookie at that point.

However, in this case, it seems either the cookie/index is corrupt, or he may not be browsing the forum with the cookie option.

There is a seperate button for those settings in the Control Panel, but also, if you're using Windows XP, look in the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows Username Here\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Clear the contents of that directory, close your IE window, and you'll lose your cookie.
