They count on boards with technical content. They're turned off on the others.

It must be important to TGO as well for them to have disabled certain forums from counting

This forum, Problems / Help / Suggestions / Comments, use to count towards people's post count not too long ago, until it was changed.

I couldn't agree more... I could somewhat understand it back in the day when UBB etc. took over from the old style boards, but now? Who cares?

If you ask me, it should really just be a part of the User CP and not be displayed in the threads at all..

The only use of it, it to tell if someone is new or not.

How else would we know if Dean had been banned recently.

(Although I think the only people who do care about post counts, are those who don't post much.)

You can tell if they are new by the "Registered: ________" part.

And I beg to differ about people who care about it rarely posting. I've seen my share of post ****** on the A&D boards

They are in a demagraphic all their own. Most of the time I feel like I lose IQ points, when I read that board. (No offense, as I know you moderate that forum.)

None taken. Its not a technical board, thats why all the BS happens there. It sure makes it interesting moderating it though.

if they only count on topics with tech. content then how can you tell if you should buy somthing from someone? i have replied to alot of posts on this site for parts wanted sold alot of stuff posted for sale ads and none of that counts ! that is what everbody looks at when they buy from you. i have been a member of this site for a long time and get no credit as far as some people are concerned. i think the for sale ads and the wanted ads should count as posts.
