Hi guys,

I connected to thirdgen.org last night under the handle TransAmLover (I just picked one up). However after 5 minutes, I was banned as a Troll!? I'd not had chance to speak!

Can anyone clarify this please? What on Earth did I do wrong?

i use irc

mirc is my client

thirdgen.org is not a server

whats the deal ?

I gave up. Some stupid bot or something decided I was a troll so that was that. .

This was some weeks ago. I've been bought the car and had hassle with it since then. I just used the url I gave earlier in my mirc and it did it for itself. Sorry drunk here-will be more precise in the morning. But I did just quit, give up etc, I've a short fuse with some bugs LOL. If I can know that I can just be normal welcomed on the server without troll stuff I'll use it in the future.

You sure it's not thirdgen.org, port 6667 on channel ThirdGen? There was 8 people online when I checked. Didn't look like anything interesting, though.

i tried irc.thirdgen.org but that doesnt work

there has to be a server name to connect to on a network

it is how irc works

irc server configuration is always as follows:

server name.network name.domain

followed by port number, in which is most commonly 6667-6669, or 7000

ive been on irc since 1999, i know how it works and i also know that thirdgen.org is not going to connect to anything because its only a partial irc server address


so.... help ?

im gonna try some more forum and google searches and see if i can find an actual irc adress(s) for the chat room,, finally

wish one of you guys that go to the chat room(and uses irc) could just tell me what server youre connecting to...

real simple...

its really starting to **** me off

TGO owns their own server. TGO does not run on a host.

That said, from my knowledge, they do run their own IRC software. It's an option that other sites do rather than rely on someone else's network.

I simply used thirdgen.org as the server, port 6667 and ThirdGen as the channel and I was in. There was a few TGO people in there.
