TGO Wiki?

Is there any plans to start a TGO wiki? Seems like it would be a great way to document things around here.

There are enough arguments and disagreements here already without being able to change each others' posts.

I have faith that our members can restrain themselves from edit wars.

Ask and yea shall recieve

Home - ThirdGen

It's fair game at the moment. Anyone can edit and add pages.
I will try my best to keep organized with any data that gets added

Should be self explanitory

AND

it only works in firefox 1.0.7+ and IE 6
It's completely hosted off site and I have no control over the code to correct these issues.

have fun!

Thanks Dave!

Any chance of getting this link put as a sticky or on the front page?

Also, any chance of getting the wiki hosted here? I'm a bit concerned nobody will take it seriously since it's not on thirdgen.org.

Absolutely not. Sorry

That's the reason we've expanded the front page CMS.

If you know of important information contact JT and he will add it there for you.

It's nice to see that someone is putting the thirdgen.wetpaint.com to good use.

Anyone else care to participate?

Have you ever been to Wikipedia.org? It's the same concept. Everyone can edit the content. Everybody adds their own information about certain topics. The difference between a wiki and this forum is that the information is organized, makin any information readily available. Also, if information turns out to be incorrect, it can be corrected easily. How many people search for something here and end up with outdate/incorrect information? The wiki could be used as the "final word" on things. For example, I spent a great deal of time searching on how to get the LS1 rear end ebrake cable to work. There were a ton of posts about it, but it was all jumbled and hard to understand which option actually worked, without speculation. I'm sure other people have run into similiar problems?

The Wiki needs community support to work. If there's only 2 people adding content to it (so far this is true), it's never going to be worth referencing.

Also, Dave, any chance I could get Mod status on the wiki? I want to reorganize/rename a few pages, but don't have the power.
