50-50 shot of getting a Email notification.

I seem to only get 1/2 of the email notification from threads, PMs etc. Yes, I'm subscribed to get them.

You might want to check your junk/bulk e-mail folder. Some of my e-mail notifications from tgo were getting sent to my junk folder.

I'll look into the issue. I won't disagree that it could be our end. But I'm not certain that using comcast's email, or any other ISP's email, is exactly known for their reliability. ISPs consider that service "best-effort" and simply "complimentary" to your HSD.

Thx. JT. This site is free and I don't expect it to be perfect. I've really haven't had issues with getting Email so, it leads me to believe is on the TGO end. Thx. again.

Yahoo emails, which you are using a yahoo account, have always been spotty for years despite different email servers, owners and networks. I've heard from some members who would not receive any notifications from this forum, simply change to a new Yahoo email address, and suddenly received all notifications.

A while back, we were looking into an issue with domainkeys - which was developed by Yahoo. This may be partly responsible for some of the email issues, but this probably isn't the root issue since domainkeys wasn't a factor before, and email notifications seem to be intermittent with a certain providers.

As mentioned, I'll look into it.

Re: 50-50 shot of getting a Email notification.

I've resorted to searching by my username to keep up to date with threads I have posted in. It's the best "work-around" I could come up with to stay current. Notifications seem to be a bit more reliable than in the past - but I had to quit relying on them long ago ...........!

Not dismissing that the notifications should be (and will be) looked into, but there is an easier method.

Try using "Subscribe with no notification" as your default preference. This will mean that each time you reply to a thread, a link to the thread will appear in your User CP section. However, you will not receive any notification of any responses. Instead, when one of the threads are updated, it will appear in the User CP.

This was developed for those who wish to "bookmark" threads that they participated in, but don't want to receive any email notifications of any activity. It's also a "one-stop" place to see, at a glance, any activity for threads you subscribed/posted to.

I'd think it's easier than searching on your name.

As long as the search works - I'll type 6 letters and 2 spaces and then forget about it. No lists of subscriptions to maintain and deal with that way.

6 letters and 2 spaces and forget about it,.......... Can't get any eaiser than that. Well; except for functional EMail Notification ! !

Well it is a personal preference. Setting your account to "subscribe - with no notication" is a one-time setup. Then simply replying to the thread results in the thread being added to your subscription list. This makes it only a "point-and-click" operation to follow-up on threads you participated in by simply visiting the UserCP section and seeing only threads with updated activity. I'd say that is clearly easier than clicking AND typing. Many members are actually doing just that.

Again, it's a personal preference and I simply mentioned the feature for those who may not know, or understand, it. If you don't like it, you aren't being forced to use it. It was an offer of suggestion.
