EDIT Your Post ALWAYS

I think we should be allowed to edit all and any of our posts at anytime we so choose, reason being is I have a couple group buys going on. And as everyone knows Group Buys tend to change over time in different details, prices, materials whatever it might be.

I have a recent group buy for Spaghetti Engineering LED Kits for the GRID style camaro tail lights. I have received new information that deletes the old info but cannot edit my post to show the updates, making any NEW readers to the group buys and such having to read 2-3-4-5 pages just to find out whats going on.

I also think being able to edit at all times will help with project threads, where you want to add pictures to the first post or edit pictures remove others and add more and such.

OVERALL, I feel editing OUR posts should be allowed always, so this way I wont have to have threads deleted because of new information for certain things coming up.

Thanks for listening and hope this can be done....to help this FORUM out...

Re: EDIT Your Post ALWAYS

There has been a few threads about this topic already:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/prob...dit-posts.html

It was disabled due to abuse after the staff had a discussion with all facts presented. The majority do not need to edit posts weeks, months or years after the post was created. Frankly, you will not find many forums that do allow you Edit your posts with an infinite time limit as well. Sans for a few special cases, it's not something that is really necessary. This change has been in place for some time now (since last year).

I'm sorry, but the ability for Everyone to Edit their posts "always" is not going to come back anytime soon. Instead, I hope we can find a better solution for those that legitimately need to Edit their posts, without having to contact a Moderator, but that type of solution is very difficult to come up.

In the mean time, please contact the Moderator (or an Administrator such as myself) of the forum your post resides in, if it needs to be edited and you cannot edit it. If there is no Moderator listed, please contact me.

Since this topic has been discussed several times, and of those times, there has not been really any solid, doable, ideas presented to us to consider to resolve this issue, but instead some simply use the topic for criticism of the website, staff and policies, I'm going to lock this thread. If anyone reading this has constructive suggestions or ideas, feel free to contact me.

I H8 WWD, if you need some of your posts edited, the only way is to contact a Moderator of the forum where the post is, or an Administrator such as myself. Unfortunately, there is no way to selectively allow certain threads/posts or members with the ability to Edit content outside of the global window.

To make it clear, I understand that there are certain cases where being able to Edit the content of the post outside of the normal edit window is needed, however, those are "special" cases that are fairly rare in comparison to the overall activity and posts on this forum. However, they are not strong enough reasons to allow a limitless window on editing *all* posts.
