Is there an archive or something?

I did a search for a really old post I made back in 2003, basically a tech article on disassembling your tail light lenses and painting them. I couldn't find it with a search. The search doesn't seem to find posts that old. But I did find another post where I linked to it, so I know the post still exists.

Were older posts put in an archive somewhere? And how do you access these?

Or is there another explanation?

Re: Is there an archive or something?

We currently do not have an archive. The search will return results as far back as roughly 2000.

I did a search on your username, and the oldest result was from 5/27/2002 and your join date is 05-27-2002. So you can see all posts are there and searchable.

Please provide a link to the thread in question, so that I can review.

Thanks.

The hyperlink doesn't work and I couldn't find it doing a general search so I bumped it for you in the body section.

Re: Is there an archive or something?

If that is the thread, it appears to be in the search index. I can easily retrieve it by going to the search, entering your username under the "Search by User Name" field, then entering in "amber" (without the quotes) under the "Key Word(s):" section. It's the first of the two shown.

But, again, to answer your question we currently do not have an archive and posts in our database should be searchable to roughly about 2000. Given the amount of posts ThirdGen has over the years, there is a lot of content that is indexed and thus makes it more difficult to always find what you're looking for unless you can provide specifics, such as I did by providing your username in the search.

If there is still an issue, let me know.

Thanks.

Ok, I think I see the problem. When you do a search, the results are defaulted to "relevance" and not by date. Which I guess is useful when searching by text, just didn't help me out in this situation. When I changed the settings to "post date" I could indeed see my posts all the way back to 2002.

Thanks for answering my other question as well.
