Classified filter

I was wondering, is there any way to filter the classified section according to where you live or seek parts from? Other than a search of the "parts wanted/selling" with where you seek parts from in the search?

I've done that numerous times and it usually doesn't turn out what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Classified filter

If you search with the "Prefix", which has all the states listed, that will filter results to those states:

Enter your keyword, select the forum, and then select your state in the prefix.

However, this is only as good as the input from the users. Unfortunately, it still hasn't quite caught on, yet. If a user does not select the state for their listing, it won't be included if you search by the prefix.

We have considered, and most likely will, require that the state prefix be filled out when a user creates a new thread. But that won't resolve any past threads that are currently not using the state prefix, although users can edit their past threads and fix this.

Re: Classified filter

Alright, thanks alot JT.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, and I don't think it will be that of a big problem if older posts don't have the state included in their post, especially in the classified section because I think alot of us look for the more recent posts for parts.
