Email Notifications

I used to get email notifications whenever someone replied to a topic or PM'd me. Now I get neither. My last email form TGO was 10/27/09 and it was a private message. I checked the user control panel and everything was enabled right. Can an admin look into this for me please? Thanks!!!

Also, the email (webmaster@thirdgen.org is the last email from you guys) is added to my contacts and the emails are not going to Junk folder.

Re: Email Notifications

I will send a test email, and this response should generate one since you have subscription with email enabled, and then I'll see if the email bounces back. Give it a few hours, as email notification relies on both ends (us and the provider) for success.

Re: Email Notifications

That's because you have both options turned off:

Re: Email Notifications

No staff changed your account. This means you changed your preferences, at some point.

Enable PM email notification:
User CP > Edit Options > Under the "Private Messaging" select check box for "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages"

Enable Thread Subscription emails:
User CP > Edit Options > Under the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" select the drop-down menu to "Instant email notification"

Then "Save Changes" button.

Re: Email Notifications

That's normal. You will only receive 1 email notification per thread activity while you're offline to prevent "flooding" your inbox. You will not be notified of every single update in each thread while you're offline, aside from the initial notification.

In fact, it is stated in the email notification:
There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.
Since you created this thread at 8:57PM CT then you went inactive around 9:00PM CT (before any responses), you would have only received 1 email notification of updates to this thread despite multiple responses while you was offline.

It's been that way for a long time.
